Blood transfusion revolutionised medicine and, in the process, revolutionised the experience of war. This project was a partnership with the Royal Army Medical Corps, the Drummond Foundation, and the University of Oxford to produce the first ever history of battlefield blood transfusion. The project focused primarily on the period from 1945 to the present, and uses a range of research methodology, including archival and oral history research.
The project ran for two years (2021-2023), and alongside the construction of an oral history archive for the RAMC, which was organised by researchers at the University of Oxford, in collaboration with the RAMC.
